An exciting visit to Neisha’s Dance Academy in Point Loma

Disclosure: I received a complimentary class, all opinions are 100% my own.

Growing up and attending a performing arts school gave me a deep appreciation of the Arts, so when I was given the opportunity to have my children attend Neisha’s dance academy in Liberty Station I was so excited! Being born and raised in San Diego, I’m aware of how many programs there are for children to join, only few actually make an impact of the lives of children and truly do what they set out to do. With Neisha’s Dance Academy they are actively involved in the lives of children, with regard to how they are doing in school, family life and an overall wellbeing. I love that Neisha’s dance studio is more than about showing up and dancing to a fun and hip song, they are there to build up these children through the love of art and demonstrate confidence, communication and leadership.

Hip hop class at 7pm

Concepts such as All Kids are Born Worthy and Character Counts are taught every day. Our kids go beyond technique to develop important life skills, learning to be respectful, confident and conscientious young people who share their gifts and talents with the community.

Location: Liberty Station

Neishas dance academy is located perfectly in the heart of Point Loma where you will find so many activities and eateries the whole family can enjoy. This is the ideal location in my opinion because there is so much for the whole family to do. Neisha’s Dance academy has made themselves even more available to the community by expanding their studio throughout San Diego.

Before showing up to Neisha’s dance studio me and my kiddos ate lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in Point Loma, Fig Tree Cafe. We arrived at 4pm with the whole place to ourselves. Their menu is very healthy conscious with a wide variety of items kids and parents will love. They have an extensive menu with many gluten free options, kombuchas and more!

mouthwatering meal

After enjoying our delicious dinner, we made our way to the dance studio. The kids began dancing and quickly made friends. I love how Parents have the opportunity to see their little ones enjoy themselves and get lost in the song while learning modern and cool dance moves. There is a class for all ages to enjoy. I loved watching my youngest son learn new dance moves and interact with the other children. They started off with a warm up to get their bodies ready for their hour class, and then began dancing to a hip hop song that they followed along from their instructor. He was so friendly and full of energy, all the kids definitely fed off his energy which was nice to see.

Back to School Haircut with Pigtails and Crewcuts

Pigtails and Crewcuts is known for their child-centric salon which brings to life a colorful wonderland experience filled with toys, trains, books, movies, video games and their signature automobile and airplane chairs. My husband and I are usually in Liberty Station area enjoying some church time with our family. One day we just happened to be walking around when we noticed the salon, I immediately fell in love with the trendy atmosphere and the design of the place. I also couldn’t help but notice all the kids so excited and looking so fresh with their new haircuts.

Getting pampered at HDBeauty The Skincare Boutique

Disclosure: I received complimentary services in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

I don’t know about you but I love getting pampered. Between getting kids ready and maintaining a household, sometimes I can lose sight of myself. It just so happened I was invited to experience a relaxing and unique opportunity at HDBeauty The Skincare Boutique located in Rancho Bernardo. This opportunity came at the perfect time because my face had been breaking out due to stress and other factors in my life. After reviewing the website I was excited to see the variety of facials HD Beauty had to offer. I had the opportunity at meeting Melanie who is the owner of HD Beauty Skincare, and she was such a sweetheart. She was very informative and down to earth, she knows her stuff when it comes to skincare and beauty. No wonder she was voted San Diego A list #4 in San Diego for 2016.

Wounded Warrior Family Event

Last Weekend my family and I attended an event hosted by the Wounded Warrior Project. This happened to be the same time as our son’s baseball game on MCRD, so timing was a little off for us, but we convinced our boy that he would have a much better time with family and friends. I can’t even explain how much fun we had, especially the kids. Before attending the event, my husband had sent me an email showing what was going to take place, as soon as I seen paddle boarding and canoeing I was convinced. I love attending all the Wounded Warrior Project events because it allows our children to gain a better understanding of those who have sacrificed their lives in order for us to enjoy ours…..there were numerous times I would hear comments from our kids saying, “look mom, that guy has no legs.” There was this one gentlemen that took me and my husband by surprise, we quickly notice that more than half his body was amputated. The beauty of it all was his candid expression and how he was more concerned with living in the moment. This man did all the sports that many of us were doing including paddle boarding. There were surf boards designed for those who had missing limbs….
